We officially have a lego-fanatic! Both kids like to play with legos but Benjamin, in particular, has found something he loves. While he occasionally will want to put a set together, usually he just builds from his imagination. One of his favorites "games" is challenging us to a build battle where we each have to build something according to a theme or idea he has chosen. A recent one was "states." Benjamin and I had to build Florida and Andrew and Julia were assigned Maine. Other themes that come up frequently are various animals, pools, and restaurants.
On a recent family movie night we watched the Brickumentary, a documentary about the Lego company and the history of the bricks. It also includes footage from lego expos and inspired us look for one in our area. And we found one - the New England Brickfair! It was quite the experience and inspired all of us in our lego building!
We were impressed with the waterfall!
An amazing forest

Trouble anyone?
One of the most impressive creations of the day was the Great Ball Contraption. A lego build that run the perimeter of a 20'x10' rectangle designed with all kinds of mechanics and contraptions to move hundreds of tiny soccer balls. This was one of the most fun elements.
