Family Project - Tadpoles

So back on Mother's Day I think I mentioned that we got a few tadpoles from Grandma Laurie and Grandpa Boo's pond. At 9:00pm on Mother's Day night I was boiling lettuce for our new foundlings, after quickly googling what exactly tadpoles eat and how to take care of them.

6 weeks later I am happy to report that we successfully raised toads! We had no idea how long it would take but it turns out that it was about a month for the tadpoles to begin to grow back legs and then in three short days they went from just back legs with a tail, to having back and front legs with a tail, to losing the tail. It was amazing how quickly they changed! We went to bed one night with tadpoles and woke up with tiny toads trying to climb the sides of their bowl!

They have now been released into Grandma Lesley's garden where we hope they are happily exploring and eating her bugs!
